Junior Achievement

“Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.” www.ja.org

I have volunteered for the local JA in East Tennessee. They do an incredible job with hands on training for the kids. I have had 5th graders and 8th graders. East TN also has a BizTown, which is a “dynamic, hands-on learning simulation that engages students in the American free enterprise system, and exposes them to business, entrepreneurship and financial planning. Serving schools and students throughout the 18-county region, JA BizTown is a model for workforce development, economic education and state of the art experiential learning.” www.jaeasttennessee.org

My hope is that anyone who gets something of value from this website will give back and make a donation to Junior Achievement.

Legal Shield (formerly PrePaid Legal)

I highly recommend Legal Shield. I purchased a membership from her in 2008. The poor thing – before I joined I handed her a list of questions. She said no one had asked her that many questions before. Angeline got every question answered to my satisfaction. I have the legal and identity theft family package and have used it quite often. The law firm assigned to east TN is very knowledgeable. I believe in this so much I became a representative so my clients can also take full advantages of these so important offerings.
